Our Mission Statement

The Mission of Hebron United Methodist Church

is to spread the Gospel

to encourage Spiritual growth and

to serve others

through new and traditional ministries.

150 YEARS  1857 - 2007
Hebron United Methodist Church was first started in 1857 when circuit riders came here from Crystal Lake. 
 
The Rev. Paul Gerardy is our pastor.  He has office hours during the week, feel free to drop by or call for an appointment at 815 648-2512.
 
The original church built in 1862 which was turned and became our Fellowship Hall in 1925 when the present sanctuary was dedicated. There are plans for a parking lot in the future.
 
We are a "connectional church" belonging to the Elgin District of the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church.
 
Our leadership teams actively participate in the life of the church.  We have teams for:  Trustees, Finance, Education, Worship, Stewardship, Visitation, Christian Outreach and Mission, which are all tied together in the Administrative
Board which meets once a month on the 2nd Tuesday
evening at 7:45 PM.
 
A "Mitten Tree"  items were shipped to Redbird Mission in Kentucky on December 26th.
Holy Communion is offered the first Sunday of each month.  
The Sacrament of Baptism for infants, children and adults is available for those seeking this means of Grace.  Holy Communion will be offered each Sunday in Lent .
 
Youth Group for 6th through 9th grades will be meeting after Tailgate party to decide on meetings & activities.
 
Adult Choir rehearses on Wednesdays at 7 PM.  This is a fellowship group as well as rehearsing for our anthem on Sundays.  Anyone who likes to sing is invited to join us! 
 
A Prayer Chain offers loving support ion times of crises and pastoral care is available by calling 815 648-2512.
 
We have a Prayer Shawl Ministry.  This group meets every other Tuesday at 1 PM.  Members knit or crochet prayer shawls to be given to anyone who needs one.  This might be someone who is grieving, or ill, or going through a rough time.
 
Mission Team coordinates funds to be given locally as well as around the world.  We are involved in PADS in McHenry County as well as UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) when disaster strikes any place in the world.
